Garden Defense is an aptly named, basic tower defence game with a few unique mechanicks that adds up to some interesting strategy. As in most tower defense games your basic goal is to stop the ememies from reaching your base and destroying it. The enemies arnt anything to call home about. They follow the ground unit, air unit, big unit matrix thats on par for the genre. But there is a lot of depth to be found in your active units. "Gadgets" such as the lawn gnome and flamingo make up your base units. The tactical aspect of gadget is they can be moved anytime during the game, and although their upgrades are expensive when they are fully upgraded they become your hammer. The other units used in the game are plants. Once placed the plants can't be moved, but they are much cheaper to upgrade. Infact the plant will auto-upgrade when allowed to grow for four turns. When A Plant grows to level four it will gain a strategic option: you can choose to leave the bud or blossum on the plant giving it a 10% ATT bonus, or pluck it and plant a new flower with it.
This Game is technically sound, but i ran into some audio glitches. And due to the "vary easy" option this is great for those who couldn't handle the difficulty of game like "Defense Grid" or are just new to the genre. All-in-all It is a solid entry in the catagorie with some fun twists and is great for all ages.
