SE has attempted many patches and fixes that try to make this game more playable.. This is mainly a review about another comment that was placed by zmaint on March 18th 2012:
1) Account creation: yes during beta the account creation was a mess, and was very confusing. It easily took over an hour to create the account alone. That has since been fixed.
2) Game Lagginess: I dont see how scoring high on the benchmark is causing lagginess on the game for you on standard. A computer that has a quad core, 2/4gb ram, 1gb video card should not have a problem at all running this game on "normal/standard" settings.
3) No jumping: This has been talked about being implemented at some point. I take it you never played FFXI?
4) Zip for enviroment: yes this is true its pretty much a big open space at the moment.. but again go read the forum for more information that has been planned to be implemented way before march 18th 2012.
5) Quest system is terrible: again yes this was true.. but again read patch notes or play the game to see how they have fixed that and have made quests easier to find/do/see/ect.
6) Combat system is terrible: again at the beginning yes. Now? not so bad, just a few class balancing issues.. but which mmo doesnt have that?
7) Crafting system: The crafting system is unique really.. since in other MMOs they limit you to a certain level to go above a certain skill level in a craft, however SE makes it a the craft its own level all together? i dont see the problem in this.
8) character creation is slow: Its not so bad, they allow alot of detail.. other major MMOs dont even allow you as much detail as SE has given you in FFXIV.
9) No way to hide tabs/armor/gear/ect: attempt to do the /display head off or similar.. it works.
Final word of thought: If you're going to write a review on a game, dont do it TWO YEARS after the initial release.. play it, try it, READ THE PATCH NOTES before writing reviews. Thanks!
