As other reviews state, this game is visually stunning but neither the plot nor the AI (or lack of it) are in the same league as the graphics. An OK game if bargain priced, but I paid top dollar at release and was extremely disappointed. You drive through a checkpoint and kill all enemies present and turn around 30 seconds later and they are all back with everything (crates, vehicles, walls, etc.) back in original positions.

Far Cry 2 is a thrilling and intense adventure however it is not without flaw. Graphically the game is absolutely stunning with extremely well detailed foliage and scenary all the way down to the sparkling ripples in the water. The game even capitalizes on physcis effects. The sound quality itself is good and the musical score to the game is fitting (although it does leave something to desire a bit). However where it excels in graphics it takes away from gameplay. The game itself handles well and combat can be fun, but... The AI is poor and one problem with quite a few games is that everyone everywhere wants you dead, no matter what. There is too much traveling around back and forth that leads to pointless gunfights. One of the biggest elements that would have been desired in this game is: Co-op. Cooperative play would have been an excellent addition to a game of this element as there are many situations that seemed as though it was an intended feature that never made the cut. There appeared to have been a stealth element; however, the stealth element is nearly completely broken as the unintelligent AI may be able to spot you through all the foliage, but they lose track of you the second you round a corner. Most of the time spent in the game was messing around with the special effects such as ligthing an entire field on fire. Another nail in the coffin of Far Cry 2 was the story itself.
