I started this game when it first came out in 2007, played about half way through, but never finished it. About a year later I did the same thing, and never finished it. So finally I decided I would play through Bioshock from beginning to end, and I am glad I did.
The game can get a little boring and repetitive in the middle. You are basically running through Rapture, shooting people, and searching their bodies, boxes, etc for ammo and other tools. The atmosphere is amazing and the story is also great. Once you get past a certain point, it becomes very interesting and I didn't want to stop until I finished it.
Overall I give this game a 9.
