In the Land of Man, the Snow Queen has hatched a devious plot to turn the world into ice. To do this, she needs to increase her powers. She goes to an enchanted vale where she finds a young elf girl, Iya, who is strong in magic and does not know it. The Snow Queen captures Iya and steals her memory. She also makes everyone in Iya’s village forget her existence. The Snow Queen takes Iya to her ice castle in the Land of Man.
The Snow Queen’s spells work on everyone except for a young elf boy, Ean, who was best friends with Iya. Ean sets out on a quest to find out what happened to Iya. He leaves the vale, travels to the Land of Man, and to the Snow Queen’s castle. Ean helps Iya escape, but not before the Snow Queen has stolen Iya’s powers and turned all of the rulers in the land to ice.
After her escape, Iya learns that she will die unless she regains her powers that were stolen by the Snow Queen. Only the nymphs can return her powers. During their quest to regain Iya’s powers, the elves join a resistance against the Snow Queen and complete several plots to stop her evil plan. Eventually, Iya returns to the ice castle to face the Snow Queen, and with Ean’s help, defeats her.
