ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead for PC Reviews by Gamers

serial activates the game while installing, but when you go to play it you need to retype it for SecuROM and it says the serial is invalid. what gives??

I bought this during the recent sale and ran into a very serious, and too common, problem that the non-Steam version of this game has:


After you install both Arma 2 and Arma 2:OA, you NEED to update OA from version 1.52 (the version this coomes with), to 1.60, then to 1.62. These updates can be found with a bit of googling and if I remember correctly are on Arma 2's own website. They will be labled as OA/CO, and will update both Arma 2 and OA at the same time.1.52-1.60 is 704mb, and the speed I got from all of their mirrors was atrociously slow, so that docks an entire number rating off of this game for me.


The Steam version of this game comes fully updates and ready to play, a MUCH better way to package this game. But after spending the better portion of an entire day trying a bunch of different fixes, the game plays just as it should, so no complaints there. But this doesn't excuse gamefly for distributing a game so outdated that it won't even run until it's updates. Hope this helped anyone out!
