Strategically speaking the game has little in the way of depth.. Silver sword fights monsters and steel kills people, but if they mix themselves you are going to have a rough time.. So, the sword is the only weapon type availablewhich has silver and steel and that is it for the weapon types.. The spell type selection is also limited... The main draw of this game is the level nudity it contains which doesn't say much regarding the quality of the game itself... Usually these types of games don't often have a whole lot going for them other than the pornography, and the foul language terms... Note I say say term because some of the worst of the language was rewritten in an effort to keep it from becoming another swear fest..
the Level cap is pretty low as it caps at level 35..
The game just does not have as much replayability as I would like as I prefer games that contain a certain level of depth(strategy wise)... The Witcher is just another lean and light RPG adventure, although it does seem to get into some adult content, but I would rather have more depth strategic depth, than adult content.. Adult content just does not fly as well as you would think.. In truth, Adult content in a video game is more like having a clown from a circus play the part of a university professor... Or maybe it is just that it is hard to be serious when ever you include Dwarves, elves, and prostitutes in the same game... The result is a steeming pile of failure that is hard to justify... I know, I know If you are a fan of te original witcher you might like it, but I would wait until the price drops as $30-$40 seems a little steep... Anyway, the armor type found throughout the game is leather although there are lots of different types of leather armor.. Leather seeems to be the only kind available... If this is the enhanced edition then I am glad I didn't bother renting the normal edition if there is one, but I am not sure if there is a NORMAL edition for the Xbox 360... TBYB
If you're looking for a good RPG, pass this one up and pick up Dragon's Dogma. The Witcher 2 is like Uncharted in that it is more of a movie with a few gaming elements sprinkled in, rather than a full-fledged, open world. If you don't mind this type of game, it's okay, but it's still hampered by a great deal of issues that make it nearly unplayable. Your character is on a rail, meaning you have to take on a few quests and the game does not open up to you or even give you direction in order to complete them. Try shooting an apple from a tree, sprinting over, then adding it to your inventory. Try jumping. None of these things can happen in the Witcher 2. It seems odd to me that a character can perform alchemy in the wild, but to drink a potion you need to be meditating. This effectively renders potions useless. Pass this game up; whatever you do, don't BUY it. It's garbage and the game shows are promoting it because the developers have paid them off. Get Dragon's Dogma instead.
