The need for an online pass makes it that I will not buy this game, just like EA games... The offline mode is OK, but short in story mode. In challenge mode, it is quite pointless. Had brief fun, but sent it back before the end of the story mode due to lack of interest...

After 10 or 12 years absence twisted metal has made its return to the PS3. I didn't have too much high hopes for this game but I wanted to try out this classic after 12 years absence. The main story is short its should may take a hardcore gamer maybe 8 or less hours to beat the game is mostly based on the online play which I expected.
The good parts I have to say is that the makers stayed old school where you can have 4 or 2 players on slit screen playing the main story.
There always things to crush into or blow up so there is endless chaos.
The robot sweet tooth and the helicopter are interesting new cars but it takes a while to get use to on the
The bad I kind of have to say is that the controls takes little getting use to but that hardly matters.
There are a few bugs here and there like see though wall and such but I haven't came across too much of that.
The fun factory dies after a few hours unless your playing with friends.
Overall twisted metal come back after 12 or so years I have to say its not to bad but I would recommend blowing only $20 for it. Its one of those classic nice to have as a trophy to me its good to see good old sweet tooth in the flash again. I would also like to add is this at least its better then Duke Nukem remake.

Controls are clunky at best
Gameplay is monotonous and not even close to as good as the originals
AI focuses solely on you -- doesn't even consider it's other opponents (point of a "tournament?")
Graphics/particles are equivalent to PS2 gameplay (are we not using a PS3??)
Overall, this game was a poor remake of a legendary franchise. TM is what got me into the weaponized race games and this title was an epic failure before I even popped it into my PS. Maybe if I felt like dropping the $10 for online play it would have been a different story, but it wasn't worth finding out. I'm glad I didn't buy this game like I was going to in February. It would have been a complete waste of time and money for little to no return value, not to mention that replay value is non-existant since you won't even care to play through it the first time, nevermind a 2nd or 3rd.
