The game was far to similar to previous entries in this storied game franchise. Its one redeeming quality is how well the original feel of the game was repackaged in this new and shiny shell.
The controls are unresponsive even when set on highest acuity, because of a slowly rotating camera with no speed scaling when rotating 180+ degrees, leaving the player feeling exposed.
The guns, while customizable (thank you for that exploded view, epic), seem merely an after thought, with no punctuated sound quality (even with surround sound) or distinguishable difference in performance between models. After customizing my weapon extensively I felt as though the weapon had not changed in any significant way, and that I had wasted my time beating the challenges.
Sound bites, dialogue, and mission/map layouts where reminiscent of any game released before 2000. I was run through the missions with slaughter house efficiency, courtesy of unscalable 3 foot walls, construction fencing (the cheep kind), doors a seasoned warrior apparently cant kick down, and at times a battlefield-esque "Out of bounds" mechanic. What happened to the open world (if only a few acres) that we all came to love in previous episodes?
Finally, the Multilayer crushed my spirit with the announcement upon loading that I would not be able to advance past level 5 if I did not buy into the unnecessary, convoluted, and generally preschool "U-play" system. I have Xbox-Live to keep track of my friends, I don't need your foundering attempt at a social app to keep me "in the loop".
In all, this series is dead to me, if you have no new material please don't get my hopes up in the future by telling us that your game is "one of the most visceral firefight experiences you'll ever get in a game". Its not, your game is old.
Ghost recon future soldier is a good game but has a poor story, instead of cutscenes full of action you see the soldiers getting there lunch... No one cares what your getting for lunch!!! The gameplay is the only good thing here, it's smooth and pretty good. Now the biggest problem with this game is as all these other games, it needs an online pass to play multiplayer, which isn't fair for people who rented his game like me. Since I can only reveiw the campaign this game desrves a 6, good gameplay bad story.. If I could play multiplayer it maY have had a better chance.
