The game didn't have such a great release and hasn't been very appraised, but it's still a good game.
After seeing some reviews, a lot of the complaints comes from the stale story. But in their reviews they're reviewing it as an action first person shooter, which it technically is, but it's a science fiction story. It's interesting enough and very odd which is what science fiction stories are supposed to be. They're not fast paced tragedies with lot's of yelling and choppers. That being said, no the story is great, but rarely they are. I enjoyed it enough, but I couldn't care less. I was too busy having fun playing, shooting around walls with high tech futuristic guns and of course slowing down time and using incredible hacking abilities on enemies to make turn on each other or even commit suicide while in combat. Now the best part was Co-op, it truly feels like Co-op was the main objective in making this game. It's got more hacking abilities and a deep leveling system, where you earn research tokens and will use them to "research" your weapons and abilities to strengthen them. Not all games need multiplayer, but this seriously could have benefited from it. If you're planning on playing Co-op extensively I suggest you get some from friends to get the game or just make some quick online. Matches are hard to come by and are often laggy. Beyond that, I have yet to find anyone with a mic or anyone who will play in a co-op fashion. Be prepared to be left behind, left needing a recharge (revive), and just overall feeling that your "teammates" are only there to do the best and level up there equipment. My first day I made sure I joined a syndicate so I had people to play with, I suggest you do so to.
A solid rent. If you have friends with the game, a good buy. Hopefully you can find it cheap as well.
Its a good game worth renting pretty much call of duty with a future twist not too many guns to choose from but there is enough it has everything a good shooter needs bad a$ s guns, explosions and skrillex but its not generic if you compare every shooter to call of duty of course its gonna suck, the call of duty franchise has won tons of E3 awards has a huge fan base and has broken many guiness world recods
It was worth the try but the ending left a bad taste and still hungry feeling. The idea was smooth but they ran out of time or money (probably both) in development, you cant tell.... If you have a two disc rental give it a try, game play and controlles aint bad. But if you only get one game at a time I'm betting you will be sad for four days to a week
