The only thing compelling in this game is the storyline. It gives you the feel of being squad based, but it only let's you make squad commands, like stun, in certain situations. If your renting this game I recommend putting the difficulty on easy to finish the story. However, there is something to say about the game, it deffenitly makes you wanting to come back for more frustration, which might seem like a con, but it's not. Due to the linear play style and feeling like your fighting the entire US Army, I give it a 5.

The controls could use some help as well as the teammates that are paired with you during the campaign, they seem to run in front and die quite a bit. If you're looking for a very short story and want to gather a number of trophies this is definitely the game to rent. I was disappointed in the MP and sadly their doesn't seem to be quite of people that are playing this mode.
Sorry for the corny title, I couldn't resist. Over all Spec Ops the line is not a bad title, there were some technical glitches in the textures throughout the game, but that is an Unreal thing. The story was pretty good, I thought it was well thought out and there were a lot of surprises along the way. I also liked the combat scenarios that were placed through out, there was plenty of action and not a whole lot of ammo so you have to make sure you place your shots. For me this is a plus, it makes the game more realistic. The environments were also very well done, although I spent a lot of time in a building or a desert they never got boring and there is plenty to look at. Overall I give this game a 7, will I play it again? probably not but it was a good title to play through once. I recommend it.
