I'm a huge Sonic fan. Like, whoa. I still play 3+Knuckles religiously. And this game captured a good flavor of entertainment towards the beginning. With solid script writing throughout and a noticeable effort going towards variety, this game ended up frustrating me because of the small things that SEGA forgot to address. Now, this game is in no way bad. Not like Unleashed, or Sonic '06, this game has its own style of suckiness. It was still entertaining and pleasing in almost all of the modern standards... but this game still felt rushed. SEGA skipped a few things and it really showed on the last boss.
I say get it if you're a Sonic fan. But this game doesn't offer too much new content. Maybe the writing, but it still not enough to carry the game from beginning to end. I liked it, but not loved. And I hope SEGA can keep going in this direction, so one day I will enjoy Sonic like I still do with games like Sonic CD.
