This game had a lot of potential- all the levels looked fun, the speed, colorful graphics, and simple yet fun gameplay- all great in concept. Then you sit there and play it, and realize it suffers from all the modern sonic control problems still. They don't just take one control scheme and perfect it, there are about 4, from 3d sonic freerunning, to 2d sidescroll platforming, to wonky minigame style controls... and they are all broken. 2d sonic was close to enjoyable, but the camera placement is so awful, you usually don't have more than .3 seconds to react to anything. Which means the only way to get good at a level is to die a bunch and learn from your mistakes. Or just get really lucky. You stand no chance right out the gate.
TLDR- what would have been a super fun game, and had so much potential to be, got ruined by horrible controls and odd camera placement.
Oh, and the last boss was the worst thing ever. Just. Ugh.
