I rented this game for my son to play. He loves Pokemon and has all the games on the DSi. This game is just pathetic, i can't think of any other word for it. It was created for children under 5 (my 5yr old niece said it was stupid also).

You watch 5 minutes or so of animation, then play for 30 seconds, then 5 or more minutes of animation and repeat for the first 45 minutes or so, my son and neice and I lost interest and shut the game off after suffering that long.

Glad this was a rental and I can return it, it's not even worth the monthly fee for renting here.

PokePark2: The Weak Sequel

Normally, I'm a pretty big fan of Pokemon, game quality notwithstanding. I like all of the Ranger games, I'm still drooling for Snap 2, I don't think Conquest was all that bad, and so forth. So, having enjoyed the first PokePark game, I fully expected to enjoy this one.

Turns out, this game is kind of a chore. A boring chore. The story is dull and predictable even by the campy standards the spinoff games are usually held to, the environments didn't feel as fresh as in the first one, and the placement of some of the Pokemon just felt wrong. While they kept a bit of the minigame aspect of the first game, they've cut them down to four - only two of which, in my opinion, were actually enjoyable.

And if you decide to go through all the trouble of befriending every Pokemon in the park (no easy task, given the ridiculous requirements set on you by some of the later ones you'll encounter), you get...nothing. Not even a spiffy notification or a badge in your notebook. You get nothing except the knowledge that every Pokemon in PokePark is now your friend. Wheeee.
