with the entire family laughing and playing the Wii? This game will do that.
This is what the Nintendo Wii needed. A really, really good multi-player Mario game that isn't a sports rip off, or another board game rehash.
This game is genuinely fun, - I destroyed this game within the first 2 days so don't expect the levels to hold you out that long if you are a Mario fan, but honestly, the gem of this game is simply playing the levels with other (usually less skilled) players. I brought this to my parent's house on Thanksgiving and it was what we did for 2 days straight from 7 years old to 50. So seriously, give it at the very least a GameFly whirl; I bought it the day it came out.
It's not every day that you get to play the perfect next-gen mix of Super Mario World and Super Mario Brothers 3.
The only thing this game is lacking is a formidable difficulty (it's relatively easy once you get the game play down) and it needs more Yoshi levels, but seriously, if you're a social gamer in any way, buy this game and get some Wii Motes, if it's just you, rent it beat it, and never forget how mario-awesome it was. :P
I gave it a ten because I have not had more fun with any other Wii-game before.
