Obviously every square mile from Cali to NY isn't mapped out here but you get a great sense of being in a cannonball run race, with much cooler vehicles than the movies.
Graphics i give an 8.4
Sound i give a 9.5
Gameplay a 8.4
Controls 9.0 (fully re-assignable)
Replayability and 8.0
This game would really push my PC to the breach of meltdown so I am probably gonna stick with the PS3 version. That being said, the PS3 is lacking in the car detail area, i mean when the opponents or traffic are in the distance they look choppy just like other racers do on the PS3. Almost to the point where you're playing on a PS2. No 1080p here, just 720p so unlike GT5 which is full 1080p you get a game that is just non-appealing in that respect. The Sound is very well done. The control of the vehicles is good, the gameplay however lacks in that you cant really run the opponents off the road. Like in the canyons, forget trying to bust your opponent through the guard rails. Long Load times when restarting a segment, and I have a 7200rpm Western Digital Scorpio16mb cache 500 gig HD in my PS3. I can't imagine what the standard PS3's take to load levels.
Overall its a very good rental, maybe even a purchase if your PC cant handle it.
