This is a good game. I never really played basketball games since NBA Live. The shooting controls are way to complicated if you ask me. But if your a sports game fan, then this is a great game to play.
Quite simply, NBA 2K12 is a polished version of 2K11.
The good- 2K11 was a great basketball experience so 2K12 being just like it may not be such a bad thing. Graphics look good like usual and portraits have been added for almost all players. I'm a fan of the now and not the was, so the addition of all the old time games didn't really appeal to me but to a basketball history fan they will offer fun games with all the "that takes me back" moments you could want. My player has been upgraded and looks to be a lot more enjoyable. Association mode (my favorite) is again done well with a few add-ins done to clean it up. The biggest thing in my opinion is the ability to extend contracts during there season.
The Bad- only one thing really but its big enough that I sent the game back for the next one in my Q the same day I picked it up at the post office. Rookies drafted in this years draft are not present. Because of the lockout the NBA can't have them in the game and so you'll be playing with last years rosters. the only new player is Ricky Rubio. Get the end of the year roster update from 2K11 and you'll be playing 2K12. The lockout isn't 2K's fault but this was a huge disappointment and made the game unplayable to me.
The verdict- 2K12 is fun, good-looking, in depth, and well presented but the lack of this years rookies really hurts this game. 3 out of 5 (at best)
