The third installment of the Max Payne series reminds me very much of the Die Hard movies, which is awesome. Max takes a beating but keeps going to do what needs to be done. I think this game has more cutscenes than the previous two, but it adds to the mood of the game and helps to advance the story. The story itself is a pretty good one, with occasional flashback missions. Max is a retired cop that gets a job as a bodyguard in a different country. There is plenty of action in each mission and many opportunities for slow kill-cams and bullet time mayhem. The game achievements encourage multiple playthroughs and taking part in the online multiplayer action. The only downside to the game, with the multitude of cutscenes and the need to play levels multiple times, is the inability to skip some of the longer scenes. Overall, a great game that is highly recommended to anyone that enjoys third person shooters, even if you haven't played the previous Max Payne games.
