Great game to play with friends

Left 4 Dead is arguably one of the best multiplayer games this year. The game is built around co-op play from the ground up. Even the single-player is made to play just like co-op. The AI Director in this game, which acts as a "dungeon master" of sorts is great in that it constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat, not knowing what is around the next corner, or when the next wave of infected are coming. You can play the same map for hours on end, and you will never get attacked the same way, at the same time, or in the same place.
The important thing about this game is that it puts all its emphasis on multiplayer. If you're the type of gamer who plays alone, you will not get a lot of hours out of this game. It will still be fun to play, but it will get old quick. If you've got friends online to play with though, L4D is a gold mine that will provide you with endless fun with your buddies.
I recommend you play this with friends that you know. Playing random games with random XBOX Livers is hit or miss. Coordination in this game is extremely important, so if you have a bad apple in your group, it can make the playthrough more annoying than fun. Not to mention friendly fire is ALWAYS on, so you may bump into a griefer here or there.
If you've got friends to play with, this game is a must-have. I wouldn't even bother renting it, just go out and get the game. If you play alone, it's still a good game, but don't expect to get more than 10 hours out of it before you get bored. If you are just going to XBOX Live it with random people, it can be fun. But play at your own risk, and be ready to meet a fair share of griefers and Rambos.
