I was a little disappointed after playing the Campaign, then messing around in VS/MP. Campaign was decent, with the Declassified side missions, which really didn't change much, either had to finish within a time period, use specific weapons.. so on. MP, sadly no grubs unless your the playing the new upgraded horde mode. Grenades stick from a distance.. thus being in a sense sticky grenades.
In short, its worth a rent.. those that have been playing since 1 probably won't like it.. but rent it try, you may, may not.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first GoW, the second and third to a lesser degree. I found this game to be slightly on the boring side, with graphics that appear to have taken a downturn comparatively speaking to the trilogy. I played through both campaigns, finishing up both in about 7 hours (with breaks). I rarely play multiplayer, so I can't speak to that. It's worth a rental, especially if you are a rabid GoW fan, but unless you are fanatical about the series or multiplayer, I wouldn't recommend it. There are some elements that have been added to spice up the gameplay, but all they really do is alter the campaign to something slightly harder (e.g. declassified missions).
Bottom line: Good game, not great. Only worth the price of a rental.
