This is one of the best shooters out there. Lots of variety in weapons, enemies etc. I partcularly liked the NPCs could revive Marcus which keeps the game moving at a faster pace. Also playing as Cole was great fun with his recollections of past days as the star of the Hanover Cougars. On the downside the submarine chapter was a little lame. Not really a whole lot doing here. The swanky hotel with guests strewn all over the place with their luiggage was a nice touch. I know that the favorite weapon of most players is the lancer but I found the torque bow a great find. Better than frags, more accurate and with the same punch But somehow it just didn't have the flair of Gears 2. Can't put my finger on exactly what it is. But just found it missing something.
Ok so I always have high hopes for Gears and it did not disappoint. The story is as always Scorsese like and the graphics will make you explore parts of the world that don't have anything to do with the story. It's a good end to the trilogy and is one of the few times in a game that the rendered trailers match the actual game play. Definitely worth the rent and if your into Gears online then worth the buy. Next up, Battlefield and COD MW3....can't wait!!!!
The campaign story line is great and the game has amazing graphics. The maps were not too redundant and the A.I. team members do their fare share of killings and revives. I like how the campaingn was not too short making it worth while paying $60 for the game.
The game is definitely a keeper and not a rental. I am pretty happy with the game and will be playing it until Bad Co3 and MW3 comes out.
