I'm not going to lie I can only play the campaign because I refuse to pay for online so my review may be a bit biased. I thought the game was lacking something in that I didn't really feel like I was playing the final gears game but more like a copy that went kinda bad. I thought the campaign was short and sometimes I didn't really understand why i was doing what I was doing and no, its not just because im a bad player I just thought that the story didn't really express any emotion and made me more separated from the experience. The action wasn't as awesome as some of the other games in my opinion and the end of the story was nothing special. All in all, I thought that the third gears game just wasn't as epic as it could have been and yet, I know everyone is going to disagree for some weird reason and because i sound stupid for not playing online but for those in my predicament, you may find my view more helpful.
GOW3 is like the return of an old friend. The graphics seemed better and the action was a little smoother. There was a feeling in this one that you could feel the comraderie of the figures. Great game that I will eventually buy and add to the first two. A keeper.

Like everyone else, I too was hypnotized by all the hype for Gears 3 since the very first trailer. I am a Gears fan and expected quite a bit out of this game, especially since it is the series finally. I loved Gears 2 and Gears 1 however Gears 3 is definitely the best. It is full of nonstop action. If you have played any Uncharted games and experience the nonstop action where things occur one after another, well Gears does this as well. It is adrenaline packed shooting unloading clip after clip. I actually ran out of ammo for the first time in any of the Gears games. I was afraid that Epic Studios was going to change to much within the game and make it to different in comparison to previous Gears, however all the new changes fit in very well for the bettering of the game. The campaign was great. It was action packed and didn't drag in the slightest. The ending may have been a tad rushed toward the final boss battle in my opinion but it was great. It lived up to the hype and delivered one heck of a game. I expected a lot and this game lived up to and exceeded my personal expectations which again had a high bar. Horde 2.0 is simply awesome. I was afraid that changes would ruin the Horde for me but it was awesome! The money system is great and ties in well with gameplay and survival. I personally did not like the fact that I had to buy certain weapons or ammo however it works very well. Beast mode is simply awesome. I loved playing as Locust and playing as all the enemies I dreamed to play was very satisfying. Campaign is very fun and all the dedicated servers really made online so much more bearable! The only complaint I would make is how long it takes to find a game, sometimes I would wait for minutes trying to find a game, however once you find a match it is again epic! I gave this game a 9. No game deserves a ten, no game is perfect. The highlight is definitely the campaign! It wraps up the Gears series in a way that is fulfilling and simply awesome!
