I first played this game on Xbox Live for the Demo, it took some getting used to and the game up front does take some getting used to. Let me explain. You go thru the tutorial of knowing how to use the controls such as crouching, targeting your opponent in both over-the-shoulder and by zooming in for a close range head shot. The enemies/creatures you encounter kinda remind me of troll-like looking aliens. They are seeking out to destroy you and eat you alive and it shows when you are being attacked.
I saw how the creatures would attack your body while slashing your armor while taking damage. It’s a tad bit frustrating, because your controls to get the creatures off of you are not the best. You have to almost let the creatures harm you first, before you can shake them off. This so far has Only happened when coming around a corner or a surprise attack by the troll-alien like creatures this far into the game.
The main terrain-building gun, is more of an Offensive gun-device that is unusual to see but unique & fun to use. You target at the ground to build mounds of earth & mountain-high obstacles at your disposal as a defense system to be more stealth, sneak upon your enemy, and go in for the kill. It’s a gaming experience that I’ve enjoyed so far, likewise did take some patience and was boring in the beginning of the game, the game such as story unfolding, gameplay & dialog does unfold about a good hour or two into the game.
Lucas Arts did a fine job with the graphics, very nicely done, wouldn’t say they are the best, BUT the environments are beautiful in the cut scenes and when your exploring the mapping levels too. I overall will give it an 8 out of 10. Controls are my hardest critique and the game is repetitive. You’re doing the same thing over and over again as you go level by level, mission by mission. Replay value is moderate, it’s overall a very good game, good story, gameplay, & enjoyable. Thank you for reading & hope you enjoy the game!
