Dynasty Warriors Volume 2 is a pretty good game. It is a lot better than the first volume on the PSP. Basically, Any fan of the Dynasty Warriors series should love this game.
Play as over 40 different characters with different attack sets as you fight your way to conquest in Ancient China.
There are 3 main modes of the game, Musou, Free Play, and Multi-player. Musou mode is the story mode. Choose an officer of the three kingdoms, Wei, Wu, or Shu, and complete their takeover of China. In Free mode you can play any level played in Musou. This is great for leveling up Bodyguards. Multi-Player I have yet to played. (I am the only person I know who owns a PSP)
Differences between the PS2 version and the PSP version?
In the PS2 version you loaded the full map and you were able to roam the whole map freely. In the PSP version you can only go through one area at a time. Conquering one base at a time. The loading times on the PSP are a little bit slower but still relatively fast for such a great game. Another difference is the way of increasing your stats (Attack, defense, Health, ect.). In the PS2 killing and collecting the upgrades made you stronger. Not on here. On the PSP, you use bodyguards for your strength. Equipping a bodyguard not only gives you an officer at your side but provides certain stat boosts. The bodyguards can be upgraded after every battle by distributing points gained in battle. A few more differences are Officers (like Zhang Liao) as bodyguards, Many different horses, though still being able to get the originals, and the story mode is a little different. In the story mode theres a family-tree-ish type choices. You go down a line and depending on what conditions for the previous battle you fulfill, it decides the next map for you.
