To sum up Duke Nukem Forever in one word, it would have to be poor. I haven't played the original games though.
Gameplay: Duke Nukem is a first-person shooter with some platforming and adventure with a linear story path. You'll shoot, punch, fool around, drive, and more. The shooting parts are pretty good, but that was only a little part of it. if there was more shooting it would've been much better. The weapon variey is not as good as other shooting games, but what's here is okWhen you fool around, you're trying to get more Ego or health, but it's mostly there to make you laugh. The driving parts are not that bad, but having to stop and get gas for your ride is not exceptable. gameplay gets a 5
Visuals & Presentation honestly, the visuals were not good. lip syncing is a little off, some parts of the world look like PS2 visuals, and there's pop-ins everywhere. The game does have good level locations from a dam, to the streets, and to the clubs. Enemies don't look as good though. There's only a few different kinds of enemies. There should've been more variety. The voiceover is actually pretty good. the person that voiced Duke Nukem must've had a great time voicing him. Visuals get a 5
Verdict: Duke Nukem Forever is good at parts, but bad at others. It could've never lived up to the high expectations everyone had for it. It's fun for a while, but then gets repetitive. Overall it gets a 5.
