To me, this game was not that special. The combat is dull, and the weapons aren't very good. The atmosphere is great and I suppose that's the best reason to play the game, but other than that, I just give it a 6.

Dishonored is really a fun game, which doesn't seem to come along as much these days. I don't think there's any originality; the entire time I was thinking "Bioshock, Bioshock, Bioshock." Still, I've played Bioshock a trillion times and don't mind a game that manages to be just as fun.
A huge part about it is stealth, and that works pretty well. It still has the classic "be detected no matter what you do" frustration but you eventually get the hang of it. You can kill people throughout the entire mission, or just knock them out and avoid being seen completely for bonuses. There's also useful collectibles, an emotional (but not very interesting) story, and the typical graphics you get with 360 games these days. The characters designs are completely comical but the animations are great.
This isn't a game I would buy for full price, it gets repetitive really quick and doesn't have many upgrades. There is a lot of replayability if you can get past the monotony. Still, it's a ton of fun to play, a great rental, and one that I'll probably buy when I see it in the $20 bin.

I was really looking forward to Dishonored and was a bit disapointed. The game is similiar to BioShock in both style and game play. The concept is cool, but I just didn't get drawn into the story like I have in other games. The biggest issue I had with it is the 1st person perspective. I think 3rd person would have suited the game much better. I also wish it had been more in line with Assassins Creed or Zelda/Darksiders game play style. Both are very different, but I think both styles would have made the game better. The controls are decent, but the block function was a bit annoying at times. It was also hard to tell when you would be spotted or not by guards. There was no real indication and it seemed like certain times a guard would for sure see me and he didn't, but others where I thought I was totally covered and in the dark and I was spotted anyway. Don't get me started on the jump function. Until you get the double jump function you jump about as high as a 300lbs girl. It just feels stupid and lacks any real function at first.
If you enjoyed BioShock I would suggest renting it to see for yourself.
