I was excited about trying out this series with Human Evolution and after seeing the trailer it seemed the game could deliver. I was horribly wrong.
To start, the tutorial part of the game is choppy with very little info on what you are suppose to be doing. In the first firefight you will actually be killed after 3 shots and when your fighting 2 guys with automatic rifles it won't take long. What makes that harder is the fact of your targeting is horrible. If the enemy moves while shooting, don't expect to hit him AT ALL. There is a cover option but it is a waste of time as you cannot hit hardly anything while behind cover and as soon as you pop up your hit almost immediately. You heal at a standard rate but it is very slow compared to amount of damage incoming.
Another failed mechanic is the ammunition as it is very scarce and doesn't add up. I can pick a gun off a person who can fire 15 shots but get only 1 ammo. If I restarted and used Takedown without him getting a shot off I would still only get 1 ammo. Doesn't make sense or add up to me, seems like they can conjurer ammunition whenever they feel like.
The Takedown system is nice as it immediately eliminates your opponent however it is your only form of melee attack. Whenever Takedown is used your energy meter goes down and you have to wait for it to recharge before you can use Takedown (Melee) again. This recharge combined with low ammunition, you might as well just start over if the group of enemies is 3 plus. Even on the easiest difficulty, the fist level takes 4+ tries to complete and the second level takes twice that at the least.
Overall the Concept was good, story was decently interesting however they failed horribly on implementing game mechanics. If you like the story it is better just to watch the cinematic on YouTube than attempt to play through this game.
