Very Good

A fun experience for anyone into adventure games

In Darksiders: Wrath of War, you control War one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse who is awoken prematurely and from the beginning of the game framed for the whole apocalypse. War must then slay everything in his path on a quest to clear his name and find the true perpetrators of the apocalypse.
Darksiders plays like a mixture of God of War and Zelda. On one hand you have a set of upgradeable weapons, combos, combat moves, and puzzles that are reminiscent of God of War. On the other hand you have items, level design and boss battles straight out of a Zelda game. The controls are tight and responsive. Most combos are easily executed with a few well timed button presses. The unique weapon / items that you can collect through out the game world are well designed and fun to use in many different creative ways. All of the design elements work well together to create this third person action game.
That being said, Darksiders does have its weak points. At times the camera can be unruly, needing constant adjustments to see in the proper direction. At times backtracking can be tedious while trying to remember where you saw that barrier that you didn’t have the item to open earlier in the game. Also there are a few graphical and game play glitches that arise every now and then, but nothing that really breaks the game.
Overall Darksiders is a fun experience for anyone that’s into action / adventure games and well worth a play-through or two.

its like god of war mixed with prototype! i think the game is beautifully crafted and designed. the only downfall i came across was that the there were too many controls for the game play. but again i would have to rate this very high. among the classics such as god of war, oblivion, infamous, and resistance! i hope a sequel is in order!

Darksiders is exactly what all the reviews have been calling it, which is God of War + Zelda, which apparently are two things that go together as well as chocolate and peanut butter. Everything from the storyline to the puzzle solving has been crafted by people who obviously love gaming. I think my only complaint might be that I don't want the game to end! Really top-notch stuff here, guys. A must rent!!
