Very Very great sequel. This is how sequels should be done. Staying true the original story & mechanics while expanding perfectly in all directions. This game got a lot of love from the developers and it shows. I was not even able to finish the game in the many weeks Ive had it. It's that big and long. Feeding/upgrading weapons, fighting, loot. Its all there, its all awesome!
I played and LOVED the first Darksiders. It was a fantastic hack and slash with great puzzles and awesome story and boss fights. Not much more you could ask for in a game like this.
This game delivers on all of those points once again...
and here's the big hairy BUT!
Too many puzzles I feel this time. I have put this game on the back burner after getting pushed into the about 5th puzzle within the first hour within this area. I feel like they added more puzzles this time more or less just to add time to the game.
Last time there was a perfect balance between puzzle time (30%ish) and straight combat/non-puzzle gameplay (70%).
This time I'm pretty confident its about 60% puzzle 40% combat. Still a great game but do yourself a favor and rent it and don't waste the 60$ especially when the replay value is just over 0 with possible DLC.
