Darkness II for PlayStation 3 Reviews by Gamers

What a great surprise! I enjoyed the first Darkness and I was looking forward to playing the sequel. I expected a good game but I was surprised to find that the Darkness 2 is a fantastic game.

Let's get to the changes from the first Darkness game:
-The dev studio has opted to go with cel-shaded graphics; A much better fit for the material in my opinion, especially since the game is based on a graphic novel.
-Talent Trees! Four full talent trees that contain upgrades that are purchased with Dark Essence. Dark Essence is earned by slaughtering enemies.
-Tighter control and more options. The controls are much smoother and the aiming is much tighter than the previous Darkness. You also have more basic abilities, including Darkness Executions that can reward you with health, ammo or a shield.
-A deeper, even better story. The story is positively engrossing. It takes some odd turns but everything does get answered in the end. Be prepared for an Empire Strikes Back ending.

In summary, this is a short, but great game. Absolutely perfect for a weekend rental. Personally, I'll be clicking the "Keep" button on this game. It's just too dang good to only play once.

The game play was very good: smooth and very intuitive. The story was also interesting but did not last for long.. i beat the game within a single weekend. The graphics did not have good detail but the way the people moved made it seem very lifelike. Overall it was pretty good.. i would definitely suggest to rent - not buy.
