Not a gears Clone

With Cliffy B at the helm I fully expected this to be a Gears knockoff. It's not. While there are alot of similarities to Gears, I think that could be because of the use of the Unreal engine. It's also kind cool to hear some familiar voices from Gears too. This game is a simple, on rails shooter. While there is nothing groundbreaking in the level design, the ways to massacre enemies makes that a non issue. Kick and shoot, slide and shoot, use the weapons secondary fire. There are so many ways to kill the enemy it makes every firefight fresh. The leash, for all intents and purposes, is the star of the game. It brings a totally new dimension to what could otherwise be a standard run of the mill shooter.
This game looks good, plays great, and the controls are tight. I wish it had a cover mechanic, but it's not really needed. The voice acting is above par and the sarcastic wit had me laughing out loud sometimes. I just wish there wasn't so much hardcore profanity. Kinda took something away for me. I'm an ex Marine, so by no means am I a prude. But sometimes it is way too much. Please tone it down for the sequel guys.
Otherwise this is a fun shooter. I know many people are going to complain about not being able to play online cause they don't get the code with the rental. If ya wanna play online pony up the cash.
I recommend it, especially for a rental. Lots of fun
