Played the game on normal mode and it was at times challenging until I figured out which weapons work best on each mutant. The leash and thumper work great on group charging you. The flail gun is a killer on the boss battlesl. Loved flinging guys into the electirc shocck towesr and prickly plants. kicking, sliding are a blast. The banter among the charactters is both crude and humorous with kudos to the general for his quips of degrading comments. Looks like there will be a follow up in Bulletstoren 2. People can Fly did a great job with the killing combos that rack up experience points for purchasing ammo and weapons. Echo mode is a blast for challenge stats. Overall this is a diffrent take on the first personi shooter with great dynamices.
Playing Bulletstorm for the first time, the game was a constant rush of fun and excitement. Just as things were about to get dull or boring, the game would introduce something completely new, like a gatling gun, to temporarily replace my weapon. There is no 'one way' to play this game. You can go charging in with guns ablaze and kill everyone, or make everyone come to you. The graphics are nice and edgy, clearly depicting the wear and tear the characters and the areas you play in have gone through. I give it a perfect 10/10.
Overall, Bulletstorm is undeniably fun. If you like games like DOOM, Duke Nukem, and other crazy, over-the-top shooters you will definatly love playing this game....however, once you've beaten the game, powered through the echos (replayed action bits where you go for points and speed) you will probably find very little to do(except maybe Gears 3 beta).
I would simply give the game a rent, enjoy the action, blood, bullets, explosions, and funny references to the main voice actor's (Steve Blum) role in order medias (He's in a lot of stuff so i may not have caught all of it, but they definatly made a couple of Spike jokes from Cowboy Bebop and Tom the Robot joke).
