This was a HUGE upgrade from AC 1. The maps are beautiful and unique. The thing I REALLY loved in this game was how you learned about Ezio's life. Unlike AC 1 with Altair, you get a background story. The combat system, although a bit stiff, is awesome with the different ways to kill your opponent (Don't mean to sound like a psychopath lol). Overall a great game with AMAZING maps and storylines!

Of all the games in the AC series, AC2 is where the title finds its heart and soul. Bigger, richer and more involved than AC1.
The main character, Ezio, is probably one of the best in the whole series. Spend enough time playing and you will begin to feel as one with him. The world is vast and dense (sometimes too dense) with real history. Tools, weapons, and everything else are expanded from AC1. AC2 would not be a bad place to start if you've never played an AC title before.
Having played later versions, I know the mechanics get smoother but they are not horrible in AC2 (just sometimes clunky). Prepare to invest a solid chunk of time tho, I dont think it is wise (or possible) to rush this title and get full enjoyment from it.
If you cant find something fun in AC2 I would suggest the problem may lie with the player and not the game.

Very Good

Four years later, still solid as a rock.

Played it to go and catch up on the lore to prepare myself for AC4. Really surprised at how it holds up. While not 100% perfect, in most cases it controls better than most modern titles.

Combat can be frustrating, and your character sometimes isn't very cooperative when it comes to tricky jumps, but all things considered, to nail it this good back in 2010 was phenomenal.

Would definitely recommend to someone interested in the series.
